Snake Embryo Pendant
Snake Embryo Pendant
They’re finally ready! Teensy tiny little snake embryo (roughly 7 days into development) preserved in a 25mm stainless steel and glass backed and faced pendant.
These gorgeous little snakes were a tad too early into their development for their skeletons to be made properly visible - but nonetheless have come up beautifully! With both sides of the pendants in glass, the little babes can be easily studied from multiple perspectives.
The opportunity for me to work on specimens like this is incredibly rare, so I can’t imagine I’ll be able to get more of these once these are all gone.
Each pendant is hung on a 50cm long 1.2mm diameter round snake chain, and should sit comfortably on the upper sternum. The hook at the top can be unscrewed if needed, and has not been glued as I was nervous about threadlocker potentially seeping in to the glass. It is very tight though and won’t come loose easily.
